A female charged with pursuing Kate McCann allegedly left her a voicemail message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who witnesses stated has persistently asserted she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial charged with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February 2025.

On Monday, the tribunal learned communication data and evidence recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test during that period.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most publicized investigations and remains open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One voicemail, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine had been, but I feel what I know."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "Suppose there is a small chance that I'm her? What happens next? Is that not crucial for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I just want to know," the recording stated.

The panel was told that by means of emails, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to show a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with the police force who gathered the data, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "incorrect contact information."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a message on Mrs McCann's recording declaring "I will persist and I plan to establish my point."

The court learned the co-defendant developed a connection online with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in the county in December 2024.

Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out using messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she ought to be taken seriously in the months before the appearance to the village, the county, in last December.
