Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community offered sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
